Believe it or not, we met on the dance floor dancing Salsa (New York style On2). We have been teaching together ever since. After refining the beginner Salsa curriculum for R.i.S.E. and teaching over 2,200 people how to dance, we decided it was time to branch out and explore different types of dance in New York.
We stumbled upon a free Tango social (Aka Milonga) in Central Park surrounding the statue of William Shakespeare. While there, we heard about another exciting Milonga on the piers of the South Street Seaport. At this Tango social, we discovered Tango Week in NYC.
The festival was a whirlwind of free classes, workshops and practicas. The highlight of the entire experience came at the end of the week, when we attended the Annual Tango Film Festival and met the famous young Tango prodigy Anton Gazenbeek. His passion for the history, culture and performance of Argentine Tango was absolutely inspiring! It was clear that our journey into the Tango world was going to be an epic one.
These days we spend most of our free time perfecting our Tango technique, and developing extremely innovative approaches to dance instruction. Our goal is to enable even non-dancers to learn how to move their bodies confidently and gracefully.
See you on the dance floor! :)
